See you in Taipei in March!
Hi everyone!
Seeing ideas, instructions and flows visually is much easier to understand than seeing them in text. It’s the same for younger students.

Also, it’s always a good idea to insert images when students in higher education are creating presentation slides or doing their assignments to explain their points better. (The same thing for websites as you see on Cacoo.)

With these reasons, Cacoo has been widely used in classrooms. We believe students can benefit a lot by using Cacoo, too, and we started to offer the Academic plan about 3 months ago.
In the first 8 weeks, we have received applications from almost 500 users in 38 countries and the numbers are still growing. The distribution of the applied users seems the similar to the number of Cacoo users overall.

(You see it looks more interesting when you see these information in a graphic
)
If you are interested in using Cacoo in your classrooms or for your homework and essays, apply for the Cacoo Academic plan from here. Students, teachers and staff working at schools are eligible to use Cacoo for free until June 30!
Dear Cacoo users:
We upgraded Cacoo earlier today and we would tell you about the changes that are a part of this update.

Vector formats, such as SVG and PDF, were added as export options earlier. Now Cacoo supports PowerPoint exports. It’ll be very useful to do your presentation with your diagrams created on Cacoo.
Please download and check the sample PPT file below:
http://bit.ly/w2zH3R
When exporting to Power Point, you can set the aspect ratio (4:3 or 16:9), the orientation, and select sheets to export.
This feature is available for users who have subscribed the Plus plan or Team plan. If you haven’t upgraded your Cacoo account, we hope this feature would encourage you to upgrade your plan.
2. Misc.
- Thai is added as the 20th supported languages on Cacoo. We are still looking for more good translators. If you are interested in helping translate Cacoo, please apply from here.
- Ownership of diagrams and Shared Folders can be transfered to other users.
- Users can now leave shared diagrams and Shared Folders.
- Horizontal, vertical, and 45-degree lines can be drawn by holding Shift key.
- A sheet can be selected from the dropdown list on the editor. You can go to other sheets very quickly.
- If you are using Cacoo on Mac, Command+[ and Command+] switch to other sheets.
We are going to add features requested by our users and improve Cacoo even more in the upcoming updates. Please enjoy using Cacoo and we hope you look forward to seeing continued updates.
To make Cacoo accessible to as many people as possible is one of our goals. Since we asked users to help us translate Cacoo a year ago , we received many enthusiastic responses.
Lately we added Finnish, Hungarian, and Thai. This means 20 languages all together!

Thanks to all translators, the number of Cacoo users are growing. At this moment, we only can answer your questions in Japanese or in English. But please look around and you might be able to find Cacoo experts and Cacoo power users around you.
Here are some places to look for help in your language:
- Facebook – Turkey, Spain, France, China, Brazil
- meetup
If you plan to hold any Cacoo user group meetings or if you know any meetings are planned, please let us know from here or announce on Facebook. One of our team might pop in and share our knowledge with you.
We are still looking for more good translators! If you are interested, please contact us from here.

We upgraded Cacoo earlier today and we would like to inform you of the changes that are a part of this update.

As we’ve promised, we opened the Cacoo Store.

There are tons of free stencils and templates. Please stop by the Store.
Enter the Store from here
If you cannot find the stencils and templates you want, don’t panic. Why don’t you create one and publish on the Store?
Publishing your items on the Cacoo Store is free. We are accepting your item applications 24/7.
The steps to publish your stencils and templates on the Cacoo Store are as follows:

-
Apply the stencil or template to the Cacoo Store from the diagram detail page. Your stencil or template will be published on the Store within a week. Publishing on the Cacoo Store is free.

2. Miscellaneous

- Some users had issues when they try to close the editing page. The issue is fixed.
- The issue when you delete a shape while you are selecting a part of it is now fixed.
We are going to add features requested and improve Cacoo even more in the next update.
Please enjoy using Cacoo and we hope you look forward to seeing continued updates.
Dear Cacoo users:
We upgraded Cacoo earlier today and we would like to inform you of the changes that are a part of this update.

Now templage feature is available on Cacoo.
It’s very simple to use templates.
You can start from a new diagram by choosing “Create from a template”, or you can select “Select and insert the template” on the toolbar on the editing canvas. When you see the list of templates, select the template you’d like to use.
A lot of templates are already in your list so that you can start your drawing easily. We are planning to add more templates, so please stay updated.

You also can save your diagram as a template.
The diagrams saved as your template can be shared to other users. Your team members will be able to use your templates.
Besides, you’ll soon be able to publish your templates on the Cacoo Store and share to all Cacoo users in the world.
Isn’t it wonderful to be appreciated by creating stencils and templates for someone in the other country?
For more details about the Cacoo Store, please check here.
2. Improved editing
The editing features below are newly added.
More detailed editing is now possible on Cacoo. Please check.
- Flip selected shapes horizontally or vertically. Flip can be found under Arrangement in the right-most tab of the Inspector panel.
- Keep aspect ratio when the shape is resized. For this, tick the box next to “Keep aspect ratio” under Arrangement in the right-most tab of the Inspector panel.
- Delete a part of grouped shape. You don’t need to ungroup to delete a part of shapes any more.
- Move or resize a part of grouped shape. Move or resize with cursor keys, too, which is very useful when you are doing fine adjustment.
- Set positioning within the group. The position of the parts within a group can be fixed. More parts and stencils can be created easily. Positioning setting within the group can be found under Arrangement in the right-most tab of the Inspector panel.
3. Importing multiple SVG and image files
A long-awaited bulk import feature is now available.
This will come very handy when you have a lot of images or SVG files to import.
You can select either “Insert all files into the current sheet” or “Insert each file into separate sheets”.
For example, if you are creating stencils, you’ll want to import multiple SVG files into separate sheets instead of putting all items into one sheet.
4. Miscellaneous
- The issue about posting a comment just after signing up for Cacoo is fixed.
- The dashed line to snap other shapes while resizing a shape was not shown sometimes. This issue has been taken care of.
- The user who edited or saved the diagram was not shown properly. Now the information of Editing History is correct.
- Some users had difficulty to sign up when they tried to sign up with the invitation sent to them via Twitter and emails. This issue is fixed.
We are going to add features requested and improve Cacoo even more in the next update.
Please enjoy using Cacoo and look forward to hearing future updates!
